personal biography.

Meaghan is a dedicated lifelong learner, currently in the final stages of completing her terminal doctoral degree in Psychology. Alongside her academic pursuits, she serves as both a school teacher and yoga teacher, offering her expertise in education and holistic wellness to diverse communities. In addition, Meaghan shares her passion for tennis as a coach, while also cherishing her roles as a beloved aunt, daughter, sister, and dog-mom.

With extensive experience in education and leadership roles, she excels in guiding groups towards achieving their goals with efficiency, clarity, and a steadfast commitment to mission and organizational values. Having lived and traveled extensively, including notable experiences in Central America, Meaghan brings a rich cultural perspective to her work and interactions.

Meaghan's professional journey includes roles as a school disciplinarian and parent educator, where she dedicated herself to supporting adolescent students in navigating social-emotional challenges and fostering connections within their peer groups. Drawing on trauma-informed practices, she has shared insights on crisis-informed care with diverse global communities through presentations to professional organizations and parents. She has developed her parent education program and has presented to hundreds of parents on the work of brain-based understanding of the child and adolescent experience.

In the realm of athletic coaching, Meaghan has led competitive teams spanning grades 6 to 12 in various sports, including tennis, soccer, cross country, ice hockey, field hockey, and basketball. Recognizing the importance of reconnecting children with nature, she has actively participated in outdoor education leadership, guiding adolescents on immersive outdoor trips ranging from hiking expeditions in Pinkham Notch, New Hampshire, to surf camps in San Diego.

With a commitment to international education, Meaghan has taught school-aged students in Costa Rica, as well as in diverse classrooms in southern Maryland, Southern California, and Massachusetts. Meaghan continues to volunteer her time with a trauma-recovery non-profit organization, providing invaluable support to individuals navigating life-altering crises.
